About David Earthman

It took several different locations and vocations, but after a life-changing trip to Japan, David Earthman found a way to share his unique brand of humor with the world: obnoxious e-mails.

The youngest of five siblings, Earthman was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Earthman enrolled in Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, but left in 1992 to enter the United States Army Infantry and was stationed in Hawaii for three years. In 1995, he was honorably discharged and returned to school in San Marcos, where he graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcasting.

After finishing his degree, Earthman returned to Houston and worked for TradeCast Securities, an online brokerage firm. In 2002, he took a job as an English teacher for the Korakuen English Center in Yuzawa, Japan. While he intended to only stay for a year, Earthman ended his life-changing trip in 2005, three years later. It was during this first year in Japan that Earthman came up with the idea for his book, E-mails from Hell: The Wrath of William Wyndell.

Earthman currently resides in Austin, Texas, and works for an online ticket brokerage, Ticketcity.com. He enjoys snowboarding, running marathons, mountain biking and golf. Earthman continues to respond to classified ads, collecting outrageous e-mail conversations for upcoming volumes of E-mails from Hell.
